ELEMENTARY:

 

Sacred Heart offers a weekly Spanish class for students from Montessori through 5th grade. Sacred Heart uses a TPRS curriculum for elementary school classes. TPRS stands for “Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling”. This method focuses on acquisition of the language through actions, verbal stories and reading. Montessori through second grade are using a modified version Hola Niñosseries combined with another series.  Third grade through fifth grade are using the Cuéntame series and each complete 6 episodes of the book per year.

MIDDLE SCHOOL:

Sacred Heart offers a semester long Spanish class for students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade.  Sacred Heart uses a TPRS curriculum for middle school classes. TPRS stands for “Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling”. This method focuses on acquisition of the language through actions, verbal stories and reading. Seventh and eighth grade are using the Cuéntame Más series. Seventh grade completes chapters 1-4 and eighth grade quick reviews 1-4 and completes chapters 5-7. Sixth grade completes the last 7 episodes in the book started in 3rd grade, Cuéntame.

HIGH SCHOOL:

Sacred Heart offers three levels of high school Spanish for Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors. Sacred Heart uses a TPRS curriculum for high school classes. TPRS stands for “Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling”. This method focuses on acquisition of the language through actions, verbal stories and reading. Spanish 1, 2, and 3 are using the Look I Can Talk series.
